Announcing 2025 OpenTelemetry Community Awards Winners
We are excited to announce the winners of the second OpenTelemetry Community Awards! These awards recognize individuals who have made a notable impact to the OpenTelemetry project over the past year, whether it’s through code, documentation, project management, outreach, adoption, or simply helping others answer technical questions on our CNCF Slack. We received many nominations from the community, and we are delighted to share the winners with you.
Let’s congratulate our 2025 OpenTelemetry Community Awards winners:
- @vitorvasc (Vitor Vasconcellos)
- @DidiViking (Diana Todea)
- @ChrsMark (Christos Markou)
- @brettmc (Brett McBride)
- @jsuereth (Josh Suereth)
- @pellared (Robert Pająk)
We have collected any attached comments (some of them summarized) from all received nominations. These demonstrate the great appreciation from the community towards all nominated individuals. You can find those comments in the following presentation slides.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the nomination process, and we congratulate the winners for their outstanding contributions to the OpenTelemetry project.
Because the Community Awards are organized by the Governance Committee, members of the committee were not eligible to receive awards, regardless of the number of nominations they received. This policy is in place to ensure impartiality and eliminate any perception of bias. As the Governance Committee elections took place during the nomination period, this restriction was applied to those serving on the committee at the time the winners were announced (i.e., the current Governance Committee).
In future years, we will explicitly highlight this eligibility rule during the nomination period.
We are grateful for the nominations and thoughtful words recognizing the contributions of Governance Committee members, and we sincerely thank everyone who took the time to acknowledge them.
